Serving Mississauga, the GTA & Southern Ontario

Emergency Garage Door Repair House At Dusk

You are likely familiar with the typical circumstances that require Emergency Garage Door Repairs. We've seen it time and time again, when someone accidentally chooses the wrong gear on the shift stick and drives right into their garage door while still in the driveway, or sometimes while still in the garage. Perhaps there is a new driver in the house or a new car that's a little too sensitive to the gas pedal. What you may not realize is that there are actually many other circumstances that can arise that could require emergency repairs for your garage doors. For instance, a malfunctioning garage door or garage door opener. Of course, this can be a major inconvenience, and in some cases, even a safety hazard. Aside from the dangers of handling damaged springs and the potential risk of faulty sensors, garage door opening systems will inevitably fail when you need to get your car out of the garage the most. Luckily, Garage One provides emergency repair for a wide service area in Southern Ontario from London to Oshawa, Niagara Falls to Orillia, and everywhere in-between! Whether it happens Tuesday morning when you’re leaving for work or late Sunday night after a weekend out of town, our skilled technicians are available 24/7 to assess, analyze and repair your garage door system. 4 Reasons You May Need Emergency Garage Door Repair

Whether you are known around the house for your handyman skills, or you don’t know a hammer from a screwdriver, there are always going to be some jobs that are better left to professionals. Repairing your garage door is no exception. Here are 4 of the more common issues you should count on the experienced team at Garage One to take care of:

  1. Control panel is not working. If you pull up to your garage and your remote will not open your door, you may have a problem with your control panel. The first thing you should do is check the battery in your remote and wall unit. If both batteries are fine, or replacements do not fix the problem, chances are there is a bigger issue with the wiring or the control panel itself and you should contact a professional.

  2. Safety sensors are out of alignment. Safety sensors must be pointed directly at one another to work properly. If they are not, the sensors assume something is in the way and will not allow your door to close. If there is no debris in the way and the sensors themselves are clean, they will need to be realigned for your door to work properly.

  3. Tracks are damaged or out of alignment. This usually is the result of something impacting either the door or the tracks. Bent or damaged tracks will prevent the door from opening and closing smoothly or at all if the damage is bad enough. You may notice bends or dents in the track or a gap between the rollers and the track when the door is operating. There may also be a rubbing noise when the door is operating that indicates the door’s path is being obstructed.

  4. Springs or cables are damaged or broken. Torsion springs are one of the most important components of your garage door system, and if they break, your door will not open. There are also cables that help to disperse the tension created from opening and closing your door. If those are damaged or broken, your door may begin to close too quickly and other parts of your system may begin to fail due to increased tension. You should contact a professional immediately if you have damaged springs or cables – they can be extremely dangerous to attempt to repair or replace on your own and could cause complete garage door failure risking injury to those nearby.
